Temporary sharing non-public data

Permanent Link: topicbacklinks

Overview

This services covers bi-directional sharing of non-public data between an institut user and one outside user. For that to happen, a StorageUnified storage block and a service account is temporarily assigned to an institute user.

How to do it?

Write a Troubleticket, requesting private sharing storage. Please include
  • how much storage is required and
  • how long you'll require the storage.
IT will then send you the storage path and the access credentials, your outside counterpart has to use to access the storage. For you the storage will be accessible without further credentials in your file manager.

Can I change the way too long password of the service account?

Yes. Go to user portal. As long as the private sharing storage is under your control, you're allowed to change the service account's password. However, the user portal can only be accessed from inside the institute or via RemoteLinux.
