DeepL is an online translation tool allowing you to translate text from / to different languages. It's available as a free and a pro version with significant differences.

Free vs. Pro version

Important: You must not process any person related data with the Free version

If the text to be translated does not contain any person related data and you do not need one of the Pro features, you can simply go to deepl.com

Otherwise follow the request procedure below to get a pro license.

These are the most important Pro features:

• your text and translations are not being stored or reused for anything
• unlimited translations
• translation of documents

Request procedure

A personal license must be assigned to your account to use DeepL Pro.

1. Please first read this to check if you really need a Pro license
2. Wirte a ticket asking for a DeepL Pro license
3. Wait for the confirmation that a license has been assigned to your account
4. Log in to DeepL with your GWDG account following these instructions

Important: Always make sure you are signed in before starting to translate. Otherwise you might be using the free version.
